Dear Ms. Brandon,
It is surely a shame that I have to leave your class and become a senior next year. If it was my choice I would still be enrolled in your class because it has taught me much more than just English. It has taught me the virtue of discipline and timely manner as well. There are only few things I would improve as a teacher for following years compared to all of the good that derived from the classroom.
The most important thing to bring back next year would have to be the class-wide discussions on multiple choice passages as well as group arguments for essay prompts. These activities have led me to become a better thought processer and question approacher, for it allows me to see how others think and combine it with my own processes. Also, I loved the fact that we were given different time periods for different essays to complete. For example, it was very beneficial to have lots of time on the research essay and have very little time on pieces such as the creativity class essay, for it provides us the discipline to complete various types of essays with varying amounts of evidence.
Although there were many things that I loved about the class, there were few aspects that were a bit obscure. For example, I was left in anxiousness the whole year about my summer assignment and I still do not know what grade I received on it. We were told that we would continue to proceed to use them on another assignment, although we did not so it's kind of a bummer. Also, the fact that we had the split in the lunch period may have resulted in this, but the class was a bit chaotic at times, almost as if it was rushed. But, that was most likely because I am a perfectionist and can't even handle having a deadline such as this one.
Thank you so much for your patience with me, for I know at times I attempt to place more on my plate than I can handle and you were very understanding of this. This year was my favorite so far when it came to English due to the diversity in assignments that we had. You are a sensation and fantastical teacher. Have a great summer and I sure do hope I get a good grade on this because I'm freaking out right now. Please don't take off for that statement, I'm attempting to place humor in a serious environment.
